Three guest performances to be presented by M Studio in early May

On May 6, in the frame of the dancEUA project, the solo production Life in Beta: Single Player (End Phase) will be presented in Sfântu Gheorghe, performed by Croatian artist and choreographer Sofija Milić. The production is a contemporary dance performance that unifies an individual movement language through visual projections and explores, in a unique way, a world characterized by continuous optimization and a collective striving for perfection. The production was supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb, and the Kultura Nova Foundation, in partnership with Studio za suvremeni ples (HR), Central Europe Dance Theatre (HU), Vitlycke – CPA (SE), and the Ukrainian Contemporary Dance Platform (UA).

On May 9 the Kraków Dance Theatre returns to Sfântu Gheorghe. The production opera.exe centers on four opera heroines, traditionally seen as victims of passion, madness or fate. What happens to these characters when they are encountered by cyber-beings from the future? How are they perceived, and how do their roles change? The creators seek to answer these questions through the language of an innovative dance performance. The production was supported by the Zawsze Silni Foundation, while the Sfântu Gheorghe performance is funded by the Cultural Promotion Fund of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.

On May 13 audiences can watch the performance of two young and talented actors from the Ad Hoc Group of Cluj-Napoca. The creators and performers of It’s easier if  —Balázs-Kőmíves Ádám and Sárosi Áron—appear as two clowns, Öcsi and Medárd, who go to extremes in getting each other into trouble or sometimes out of it, eventually realizing that they depend on each other just as much as the other depends on them.
