MORIX 508 is a dance performance that takes place in a distant future in which humans transform into cyborgs so they can live in the depths of the ocean. Narrated by the voice of an AI (artificial intelligence), MORIX 508 imagines Earth as a planet where the few remaining humans live on overcrowded islands. The show tells the story of a group of morixes, cyborgs who have undergone drastic upgrades in order to survive and thrive in the underwater world. Their story tackles the theme of adaptation to survival, opening a dialogue about the fate of humanity in the future.

The show is an engaging exploration of the biocyborgs' bodies, their ecosystem, and an exercise of imagination about how society can respond to ecological disaster. Considered either a segregationist technology, a new religion or a necessary evolution, morixes are constantly negotiating their identities and abilities. The three morixes’ relationship with their environment raises questions about our relationship to a planet facing a climate crisis.
