Krakow Dance Theatre returns to Sfântu Gheorghe

The Krakow Dance Theatre Company participated with SHAKESPEARIA at this year's FLOW5 International Dance Festival in Sfântu Gheorghe and enjoyed great success among the audience. The company returns to the city with TREATISE, choreographed by Milan Tomáši, which will take place on November 18.

The performance explores the interweaving and interconnectedness between abstract musical score and movement. The production explores a rich visual world in which the geometric shapes of the musical score, from simple lines, curves, dots and spirals to overwhelmingly complex structures, are the starting point of the dance performance TREATISE. For the choreographer, the biggest challenge was how to reinterpret and transform a musical score (albeit visually stunning) into dance and choreography.

Milan Tomášik is an international choreographer, performer, dancer, artistic director and teacher in dance and performing arts. Milan has been a professional performer for twenty years, collaborating with artists from all over Europe. He is co-founder of the dance collective Les SlovaKs, with whom he creates and performs internationally acclaimed works. TREATISE premiered in Krakow in March 2024 and has since been presented in Zadar (Croatia), Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and Vitlycke Arts Center in Sweden. On November 12 the production will arrive in Maribor, on November 14 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), on November 16 in Budapest and on November 18 in Sfantu Gheorghe.

The performance is supported by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund, and will take place within the European program Beyond Front@: Bridging Periphery. Tickets are available on https://tasz.biletmaster.ro/ron/Event/47006756/Treatise and in the Organizing Office.
