Auction: Gergye Krisztián Company

„name” is an unknown and anonymous painter, whose paintbrush is the dancer, whose canvas is the stage. The „dance-performance” itself is only an excuse to show the personal through exploiting the impersonal by hiding behind the masques of stage performers. The aim is to preserve the independence from any form of value judgement and to pick up the deliquent’s trail. Its anonymity and desire for creation are absolute.

AUCTION is a contemporary dance and theatrical thinking connecting a discourse with contemporary fine arts and painting. The performance focuses on a physical action which can be interpreted as a dance and a theatrical act. The final aim is to realize a fine art product which defines the stage act as a fine art gesture series. The paintings will be put on „auction” and for „sale” throughout the evening – the leftover paintings will be destroyed.

Gergye Krisztián
Gergye Krisztián is an important figure in the Hungarian contemporary dance theatre scenes. His unique aestethics comes from the fusion of classical and modern forms. His performances transgress the boundaries of the genres with a unique theatrical language using dance, music and fine arts as an organic whole. The choreographer and performer always searches for clear expressions and clean forms that reflect the precise idea of the whole composition. His company performed on every important Hungarian stage, his performances are internationally acclaimed. 
From 2014 he creates independent and interdisciplinary performances.
