The Visitor

The Visitor

The performance is inspired by Lengyel Menyhért's classic work A Csodálatos Mandarin.
The director uses the story only as a pretext, as a starting point for the representation of his own theatrical world. Accordingly, the story, respectively the visitor's arrival is put into a newer illumination.

The Visitor is Gyöngyösi Tamás's second movement-theatrical directing with the M Studio's actors.
The previous, Éden is more compact in correlation to the Visitor, but the Visitor is more diversified
in it's story, in it's instruments and in it's illustration world. It is a subsequent experiment for seeking the possibilities of the movement-theatrical language.

At this time it is substantial the serenity, the humour, which is able to place even the dead-end situation in a riot, in a ridiculous dimension.

The contemporaneous music is an important character of the play, the same as it is the silence.
Functionally the language of the performance is a movement-theatrical play-the result of the special blending of the acrobatics, of the different dance-styles, of contact-techniques.

The alternation of the female and the male themes always bears tension. The constant interaction of the love-aggression quotes the revelation of a world, in which the contrasts are the mainsprings of the play.
The key of the performance lays in the accumulation of the sign-system, respectively in the redefinition of his own meaning. Under these circumstances the resurrection of an item is the miracle, the inanimate momentary animation.
